About Final Project

I think that I will do clocks. This will be interesting because I have to look for good light tp show them in. The different styles will be a great shot for me. I am looking forward to this project becuase I have been avarage all year, so I want to impress Slade on this assignment. I really want to do well. The clocks would be taken with the time and the time put into them will hopefully turn out right. I will use a tripod. This idea became a favorite because it will use the skills and time mangement that I have learned this semester. I hope that I can do well.

I wil shoot al over Christmas break and look for clocks all over. Different styles of clocks (digital, wound up, etc.) will be a great project. I will use the skills in the real world and I will decide wether this assignment will rsie in success or fall with disgrace.

Cliche Photos

Our world is full of cliche photos. These photos fill up the life of lots of photographers. The photos are so common that they aren't interesting anymore. These are some of the most cliche photos I could find. They feel that they are creative about the photo. In reality, they are not! Everyone does it, so don't do it. I would do it because it is lame! Photos should be creative about the subject.

Assignment #7 Re-done

Mr. Slade wanted us to re-do a previous assignment that we thougth we did poorly. The first time I did this assignment, some of the photos were blurry. I thought that I could do better on this assignment. This was taken this week. I didn't want to shoot all hundred shots, so I looked for opportunities to find different numbers in random places and with the resources that were availible to me.

Assignment #6 Portraits

This assignment was done on Tuesday night. They contain the six members of my family and some friends and their nieces down the street. These portraits show the attidtude and the personality of the person or people in the photo. These were done with a tripod!!!! YEA!!!!!! I felt in charge with telling people how to look and where to stand for these pictures. I felt like a real photographer!

Mini-Final

This is one of the first ever pictures shot by this camera. This is for the numbers assignment, the first assignment given by Mr. Slade. In my opinion, the best numbers picture taken.




This photo was taken in the Murray Cemetary for the Halloween extra credit. The movement of the camera gave a cool, supernatrual effect. On eof the best shots taken in that setting.




This photo was taken on the second off-campus trip of Fall Term. We were hiking on the trail on our way to rock climbing in Big Cottonwood Canyon. I have loved to see planes fly above the ground they look so cool.




This was taken on a bus while backing up from driving into a construction site. This pipe is a pipe that has been taken up out of the ground. It is huge! It was a challenge to keep the camara steady whil the bus backed up.




This photo was taken on Waterford campus while crossing the quad. It had briefly snowed on us and it show snow in the mountains. It shows that winter has hit briefly. It seems that it is a forewarning.



This one has cool contrast because of the very bright moon and the very dark sky. I took this at 6:30 am while I was waiting for my carpool to seminary.

Joe Rosenthal: A Veteran Photographer

Joe Rosenthal was born in Washington D.C on October 9, 1911. Parents were desencents of Russia. Recieved a degree in photography from the University of San Francisco. Followed the U.S Marine Corps throughout the Pacific Operation as a "embedded journalist."



This photo, "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima" is one of the most well known photos of the war. He was climbing to the top and he saw a small American flag on a long pole. He then noticed that a group of marines were getting ready to raise a secong flag. The commander wanted a bigger flag, so all the troops on the island could see it. Another man was shooting with a film camera and documenting the event. "Here they go" he said. Joe swung his camera around and shot the picture with a 1/400th of a second shutter speed. He had one chance to take this photo. The picture above has become one of the most favorable photos of the war.

Assignment #5 Get On Your Belly/Back!!

This assignment was focused on the point of view that you have when you take pictures on your back or your belly. These pictures were taken all around my house of ordinary items that give a view of great, big things that are normally smaller, and also a straight on shot of other objects. We had to put 10 prints from 100 shot assignment on the blog and print the best 5 pics. My favorites are # 2,4,6,7,and 8.
